This can happen when the baby is put to bed with a bottle, or when a bottle is used as a pacifier for a fussy baby.
KEEP THEIR MOUTHS CLEAN
The next time your child’s pacifier goes flying, don’t pick it up and put it in your mouth because you think that makes it cleaner. Cavity-causing bacteria can be passed through saliva, so you could actually be introducing germs to your child instead of protecting him or her from them. The same goes for mealtime. It can be second nature to offer a bite of your food to your baby from your fork or use their spoon to make sure their food is ready to eat. Keep your utensils, and your germs, separate for healthy mouth and body.
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub if your hands are not visibly dirty.

PRACTICE RESPIRATORY HYGIENE

Why? Covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing prevent the spread of germs and viruses. If you sneeze or cough into your hands, you may contaminate objects or people that you touch.
MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and other people, particularly those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever.
Why? When someone who is infected with a respiratory disease, like 2019-nCoV, coughs or sneezes they project small droplets containing the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the virus.
AVOID TOUCHING EYES, NOSE AND MOUTH
Why? Hands touch many surfaces which can be contaminated with the virus. If you touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your contaminated hands, you can transfer the virus from the surface to yourself.
IF YOU HAVE FEVER, COUGH AND DIFFICULTY BREATHING, SEEK MEDICAL CARE EARLY
Tell your health care provider if you have traveled in an area in China where 2019-nCoV has been reported, or if you have been in close contact with someone with who has traveled from China and has respiratory symptoms.

HERE ARE 5 EASY OFFICE EXERCISE
1. SHOULDER CIRCLES
Help prevent rounded shoulders and relieve tension with some chest-opening shoulder circles.
While seated, rotate your shoulders backwards and down, trying to make the biggest circles you can. And breathe.
2. LEG EXTENSIONS
Leg extensions are great for strengthening your thigh muscles, which will come in handy during active labour.
Start by ‘zipping up’
Imagine a thread is attached to your belly button from the inside and is pulling your belly button towards your spine. While doing this, put your finger on your belly button. You should feel it move upwards slightly and the muscles around it tighten, but you will still be able to breathe normally.

For the leg extensions:
1. Sit on a chair, feet hip width apart; toes, knees and hips facing forwards; shoulders back down. 2. Lift one knee to a comfortable height, keeping the leg bent. 3. Keeping the leg lifted, slowly straighten the leg without locking the knee. 4. Slowly return the leg back to the bent position while keeping the thigh lifted. 5. Repeat 8-12 times on one side and then the other.
3. OFFICE SIT-UPS
Office sit-ups are good for toning your legs and glutes (bum muscles).
Sit in your chair, feet hip-width apart, with your toes, knees and hips facing forward.
Zip up and then slowly stand up, taking your weight through the heels of your feet and keeping your shoulders back and down. Keep your pelvic floor and abdominals nice and tight.
Once you are standing (with knees slightly bent) slowly lower yourself back down into the chair with your bum pushed out towards the back of the seat, sit down and repeat.
Repeat six times, take a break for 30 seconds and gradually work up from there.
4. PELVIC TILT
Work your pelvic floor and tummy muscles (which will support your growing baby) and help prevent back and pelvic pain.
Sit nice and tall in your chair with your feet square on the floor.
Tighten your pelvic floor muscles.
Gently squeeze your bottom, curling it under you (in other words sink into your tailbone).
Hold for 5 seconds.
Repeat 10 times.
5. PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES
No-one will know you’re doing these pelvic toning exercises and – trust us – it’s worth every little squeeze. Your bladder will thank you.
Slow twitch (slow twitch fibres support the pelvic organs and the baby inside you):
Slowly tighten and lift the pelvic floor up, lifting the muscles inwards and upwards.
Continue lifting up through the pelvis and into the tummy.
Try to hold it for 4 seconds and then release slowly.
If the contraction fails after a few seconds and there is nothing left to release, hold at the top for less time until you have worked up to 4 seconds.
Gradually increase the length of hold, ensuring you always have something to release and are able to lower slowly.
Fast twitch pelvic floor exercise (fast twitch fibres maintain continence, making you less likely to wet yourself):
Tighten and lift the pelvic floor up in one quick contraction, lifting the muscles inwards and upwards.
Pause before releasing slowly.
Relax fully at the end.
Try and perform each repetition with the same speed and strength as the first.
Go for a short walk

Swap your chair

Oil holds a very special place in Ayurveda. In fact, it is often said that the oil is the medicine. In certain Ayurvedic treatments, herb-infused oil is used in conjunction with powdered herbs. The powdered, dosha-specific herbs are either mixed with oil to create a paste or applied directly to the skin on top of the massage oil. Heat is then added to open the pores and encourage maximum absorption. The herbs are akin to energetic managers who provide clear directions to the cells of the human body.
As the body follows the nourishing instructions provided by each herb’s unique biologic injunction, various changes begin to manifest at the cellular level. Essential oils have been used throughout Ayurveda’s long history as a tool for awakening the body’s healing potential. According to the British Heart Foundation, as many as 7 million people in the UK are living with undiagnosed high blood pressure (hypertension).
Concerned you may be at risk? We spoke with Dr Andrew Thornber, Chief Medical Of cer at Now Patient, to uncover the facts about high blood pressure.
WHAT IS CLASSED AS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
Your blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) and consists of two numbers: the higher number refers to systolic pressure. This is the force with which your heart pumps blood around your body. The lower number refers to diastolic pressure. This is the resistance to the blood Flow in your blood vessels. Normal blood pressure is considered to be a reading between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg.
‘The only way to know whether you have high blood pressure is to have it measured,’ says Dr Thornber. ‘Your GP will probably be concerned if your blood pressure reading is 140/90mmHg or higher.’
WHAT CAUSES HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
“‘Blood pressure varies from person to person, and can fluctuate throughout the day,’explains Dr Thornber. ‘However, high blood pressure is usually caused by a poor diet that is high in fat, salt, sugar and processed foods, obesity, lack of exercise, stress, smoking and alcohol. Some people are more prone to high blood pressure if they have a family history of the condition, or if they are of African or Caribbean origin. In others, it can be caused by an underlying medical condition, such as kidney disease, diabetes or lupus, among others.’
Dr Thornber also points out that some people experience higher stress levels when in a medical or hospital setting, and so it can appear they have high blood pressure. ‘This is called “white coat hypertension”, where their blood pressure rises only because someone is taking their blood pressure, and not because you have an underlying medical problem.’
If your GP suspects this is the case, they may suggest ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (a device worn round the clock for 24 to 48 hours), to track your blood pressure out of a medical setting.
SYMPTOMS OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
The first stage of testing for Hepatitis C is an antibody test which can be concluded within two-three months of acquiring the virus. The screening is important because it can lead to cancer. Since this is contagious, the infection can be transmitted to another person through exposure of wounds, among other things. Dr Thornber states that the problem with high blood pressure is that there are usually no symptoms at all – that’s why it’s important to get yours checked with your GP. However, rarely, you might experience the following:

If you think you have high blood pressure, make sure you consult your GP and get a blood pressure test as soon as possible,’ insists Dr Thornber. ‘The longer you leave it, the worse health consequences you may end up with.’
Not everyone who is diagnosed with high blood pressure will need to take medication, he says. In some cases, you will simply be advised to make lifestyle changes. These include:
Eating a low-fat diet
Reducing your salt intake
Increasing your fruit and vegetable intake
Drinking less alcohol
Getting better quality sleep each night (more than six hours)
